I think there is a part of all of us that is forever holding on to the magic of childhood. Running through cold sprinklers on a hot summer day, making a MESS in the kitchen cooking chocolate chip pancakes, building sandcastles on the beach. Family sessions feel like that to me—it’s a glimpse into how parents keep that sense of wonder alive, both for themselves and for their children.

As all of my work does, everything starts with connection. Every family session is an opportunity to freeze that magic and document the relationships, silly little personalities, and dynamics that make each family unique. The more laughter and play, the better. I am a strong believer in organic playfulness and capturing what a family would be doing if I was not present.
